Core Systems Hosting provides shared infrastructure resources to all customers. This Fair Use Policy ensures that resources are distributed fairly and that no single user adversely affects the experience of others.

1. Resource Usage Limits

While we advertise specific resource allocations for each plan, fair use guidelines apply:

CPU Usage:

• Sustained high CPU usage (>80% for extended periods) may trigger investigation
• CPU-intensive processes should be optimized for efficiency
• Cryptocurrency mining is strictly prohibited
• Intentional CPU throttling attacks are not permitted

Memory (RAM):

• Memory usage should stay within your allocated plan limits
• Memory leaks should be identified and fixed promptly
• Excessive swapping to disk indicates insufficient memory allocation
• Consider upgrading if consistently hitting memory limits

Disk Storage:

• Storage should be used for legitimate game server files only
• File backups, media streaming, or file hosting services are not allowed
• Excessive disk I/O operations may be throttled
• Regular cleanup of unnecessary files is encouraged

Network Bandwidth:

• Bandwidth should be used for game server traffic
• File distribution, torrent seeding, or proxy services are prohibited
• DDoS attacks will result in immediate suspension
• Excessive bandwidth usage may trigger investigation

2. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are explicitly prohibited:

• Mining: Cryptocurrency mining or blockchain validation of any kind
• Proxies/VPNs: Operating proxy servers, VPN services, or TOR exit nodes
• Mass Mailing: Email spam, bulk mailing, or unsolicited marketing
• File Hosting: Using servers as file storage or distribution platforms
• Media Streaming: Audio/video streaming services unrelated to gaming
• Scrapers/Bots: Automated web scraping or aggressive bot operations
• Attack Tools: Hosting or launching DDoS, port scanning, or hacking tools
• Illegal Content: Storing, distributing, or linking to illegal materials
• Resource Reselling: Reselling our services without authorization

3. Game Server Specific Guidelines

Player Capacity:

• Server player limits should match your resource allocation
• Overloading servers affects performance for all users
• Consider upgrading if consistently hitting performance limits

Plugins and Mods:

• Only use plugins from trusted sources
• Poorly coded plugins can cause excessive resource usage
• Test plugins in development environments first
• Remove unused or broken plugins

World Size and Complexity:

• Large worlds require more resources
• Regular world optimization is recommended
• Consider world borders to limit excessive exploration

4. API and Control Panel Usage

Fair use applies to our control panel and API:

• API rate limits are enforced to prevent abuse
• Automated scripts should include reasonable delays
• Excessive API calls may result in temporary blocking
• Real-time connections should not be abused

5. Support Resource Usage

Our support team is here to help, but please:

• Search documentation before opening tickets
• Provide detailed information in support requests
• Avoid duplicate tickets for the same issue
• Be respectful and professional with staff
• Do not abuse emergency/critical priority flags

6. Monitoring and Enforcement

We actively monitor resource usage:

Automated Monitoring:

• System automatically tracks CPU, memory, disk, and network usage
• Alerts are generated for unusual patterns
• Automated throttling may occur to protect infrastructure

Manual Reviews:

• Staff may investigate accounts flagged by automated systems
• You will be notified if your usage violates this policy
• Opportunity to resolve issues before enforcement action

7. Violation Consequences

Violations of this Fair Use Policy may result in:

First Offense:

• Email warning with details of the violation
• Request to reduce resource usage or stop prohibited activities
• Temporary throttling if necessary for infrastructure protection

Second Offense:

• Temporary service suspension (24-48 hours)
• Required resolution of issues before reactivation
• Possible plan upgrade requirement

Severe or Repeated Violations:

• Permanent account termination
• No refunds for remaining service period
• Potential legal action for damages or illegal activities

8. Resource Upgrades

If you regularly need more resources:

• Upgrade to a higher plan with more allocation
• Contact sales for custom enterprise solutions
• Optimize your applications for better efficiency

9. Reporting Abuse

If you notice another customer violating this policy:

• Report through your account dashboard
• Provide specific details and evidence if possible
• We investigate all reports confidentially
• Do not attempt to retaliate or take action yourself

10. Good Citizenship Guidelines

Be a good member of our hosting community:

• Optimize your server for efficiency
• Keep software and plugins up to date
• Clean up unnecessary files regularly
• Monitor your own resource usage
• Ask for help when needed
• Respect other users and staff
• Follow game-specific terms of service

11. Exceptions and Appeals

If you believe enforcement action was taken in error:

• Contact our support team with your appeal
• Provide evidence supporting your case
• Appeals are reviewed by senior staff
• Decisions are typically made within 48 hours
